Digital X-rays
We use state of the art digital x-rays to help with the accurate diagnosis of your dental needs. Digital X-rays use less radiation to get a diagnostic picture of your teeth and they help the environment by eliminating the use of chemicals to process the film.
Crowns
Crowns, or caps for teeth look and function just like natural teeth. If one of our doctors recommends a crown your tooth has enough decay that it cannot hold a filling, or if your tooth is cracked or broken and in danger of cracking down into the root if left unattended. A crown covers your tooth completely. It fits snugly at the gum and protects what remains of the natural tooth. They can be made of gold or porcelain fused to a metal subtrate for strength and crowns can also be made entirely from highest ceramic and porcelain.
Same day crowns are available
Bonding
Bonding is a quick, painless in-office procedure to repair cracks, chips, gaps between teeth or cover stained teeth to enhance your smile. Bonding can often be done without anesthesia if there is no decay or pulp exposure. The bonding material is developed in many shades allowing the dentist to accurately match the shade of your natural teeth. The composite resin forms a durable, stain resistant surface that is later smoothed and polished to give it a natural appearance and feel.
Bonding can be used to:
* Protect exposed roots of teeth
* Repair cracks, unevenness, chips
* Close spaces between your front teeth
* Reshape crooked or misshapen teeth
* Replace old or unattractive silver fillings
* Whiten stained teeth
* Stabilize loose teeth
Implants
If you are missing one or more teeth, you'll want replacements that are as natural as possible. If dentures or bridges don't work for you, you may consider dental implants. Unlike dentures, which can be removed, implants are permanently anchored into the jaw itself, and bridges have to cut the adjacent teeth.
You are a good candidate for dental implants if you have good jawbone ridges that are in good shape and you have healthy oral its sue.
A dental implant is a titanium metal replacement for a root of a tooth that is surgically implanted in the jawbone.
The length of the healing time is based on the quality and quantity of bone, as well as the type of implant placed. After adequate healing is allowed to occur, the bone around the implant can be used to support a crown, bridge, or denture.
Root Canal
Sometimes the pulp inside your tooth becomes inflamed or infected. This can be caused by deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, a crack or chip in the tooth, or a blow to the tooth.
Signs to look for include pain, prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold, discoloration of the tooth, and swelling and tenderness in the nearby gums. But sometimes, there are no symptoms.
The dentist removes the inflamed or infected pulp, carefully cleans and shapes the inside of the tooth, then fills and seals the space. Afterwards, a crown or other restoration is placed on the tooth to protect it and restore it to full function.
Most patients report that having a root canal treatment today is as easy as having a cavity filled.
Sealants
Sealants should be used as part of a child's total preventive dental care. Dental sealants are thin plastic coatings which are applied to the chewing surfaces of the molars (back teeth). Most tooth decay in children and teens occurs in these surfaces. Sealants cover the chewing surfaces to prevent decay. Applying sealants does not require drilling or removing tooth structure. It is an easy three-step process: We clean the tooth with a special toothpaste. A special cleansing liquid, on a tiny piece of cotton, is rubbed gently on the tooth and is washed off. Finally, the sealant is painted on the tooth. It takes about a minute for the sealant to form a protective shield. One sealant application can last for as long as 5 to 10 years. Sealants should be checked regularly, and reapplied if they are no longer in place.
